Recently, I updated my Windows 10 installation to the latest Creators update. Everything went smoothly and without a hitch. However, after trying to fire up my Firefox installation, I noticed that it won’t run anymore. I took a look at the Task Manager and noticed that the “firefox.exe” process is not running. If you are having the same problem as me, you’re in luck!
Here is a solution for that unresponsive Firefox browser after updating to Windows 10 creators update.
The fix to this problem is very simple. We just have to remove our user data settings for our Firefox browser located in the AppData folder in our Windows machines.
While on the Windows Explorer, go to address bar and type:
and press enter key.
This will take you to the Mozilla folder in AppData folder where additional data and information regarding user program settings and preferences are stored. Once you are inside the Mozilla folder, head to the address bar again and click the “Roaming” word. Doing this will take you the the upper level directory which contains the Mozilla folder.
Once in the Roaming folder, go and delete the Mozilla folder.
Deleting the Mozilla folder with delete all your preferences for Mozilla Firefox. This includes all add-ons and any tweaks done for the browser. Therefore, after you deleted the Mozilla folder and ran Firefox, it will start as if your browser is freshly installed.

However, if for some reason Firefox still won’t run, you can go ahead and reinstall it. Remember to delete the Mozilla folder again before reinstalling the browser for a clean install.
